Tap 4 Generations
Nursing Home Workshops
I also bring tap dance to local nursing homes, creating an inclusive and engaging experience for residents. These sessions introduce the fundamentals of tap while emphasizing musicality, expression, and enjoyment. To ensure accessibility for individuals with limited mobility, including those using wheelchairs, I incorporate a “hand tap” approach, allowing participants to recreate tap rhythms and movements using their hands. This adaptation enables everyone to actively participate and connect with the music, regardless of physical ability. I am currently working toward certification in hand tap instruction with a professional educator to further enhance the quality and inclusivity of these sessions. Through this program, participants are able to engage creatively, stay active, and experience the joy of movement in a supportive environment. I work with Nathaniel Witherell and Waveny LifeCare Network and am continuing to expand outreach to additional nursing homes.
